ABOUT KANSANS FOR CONSERVATION
We are a coalition of diverse organizations working collaboratively to ensure a healthy and sustainable future for Kansas, focused on water, land, outdoor recreation, and environmental education resources for Kansans.
OUR FOCUS AREAS
WATER
Water is important to every Kansan, every day. Clean, available water is vital for agriculture and industry; the health of our families, communities, and businesses; and the wild and natural environment.
LAND
Productive lands are the building blocks for Kansas agriculture, which contributed $65.7 billion to the state's economy in 2019. Conserving and sustainably managing cropland and grazing land, in concert with agricultural producers, is essential to our future.
QUALITY OF LIFE
Investing in outdoor infrastructure like parks, trails, and natural areas improves quality of life, attracts businesses to communities, and provides safe places for families to recreate and experience the physical and mental health benefits of being outdoors. Environmental education ensures that our children have opportunities to experience the outdoors and understand our natural environment, an important component for long-term success of conservation efforts.
